For the Squash in the Sky
Sunday, May 22nd 12:30-2:30pm
In tandem with A Creeping Normality, artists Claire Elliott and Asa Mease, have planned a celebration of spring! Please join us For the Squash in the Sky this Sunday, May 22nd 12:30-2:30pm.  Asa will prepare homemade soup (veg) with squash harvested from his garden, along with rye bread, and Claire will have a sweet surprise made from dandelions. Claire will also lead a weed walk around the yard and discuss invasive plants. She has made an accompanying weeds coloring book, so bring the family. A Creeping Normality is up through the end of May.

2nd Annual Holiday Makers Pop Up
Sunday, December 15th 2-6pm
Join 1122 gallery for our 2nd annual holiday pop up!  Support artists and makers while doing your holiday shopping. We will have ceramics, paintings, zines, fiber arts, zines, herbal medicine, and more! Check our Instagram to find out more about our vendors.

We will also be hosting poetry reading with Magnificent Field Press at 4pm, with poets Sam Lohmann, James Yeary, and Phoebe Wayne.

There will be supply drive for a local non-profit, as well.

Badass HERstory Stitch-up
Wednesday, July 31st 6-8pm

Join Cassandra Rosenthal of CASS ROSE Embroidery for a stitch-up with the Badass HERstory Project,  recently launched by Badass Cross Stitch.  This is a global community craftivism project for women, female-identified, and gender non-binary humans. We will work on our pieces, talk community building and civic engagement, and get to know each other. Bring materials, but no experience necessary.

Bem Vindo: Brazilian Food + Art Talk
 Saturday, July 20th 12-4pm


Marcelo Fontana's exbihibtion is a call for people to unite and create a community. To close out Return Eternal Return we will be hosting one final event. Bem Vinda will be a day to celebrate friendship and community with art, food, and music.

To learn more about Marcelo's home country, we will be making Brazilian feijoada, traditionally a stew of beans and meat, with a vegan option as well. Feel free to bring beverages. Please RSVP so we can get a headcount for food supplies.

Dream Poetics: Mining Dreams & Dream-Logics for Your Writing
Saturday, April 27th 3-5pm
A fun, generative poetry-writing workshop for all skill-levels that will explore the creative potentials of dreams & dream-logic. We will 1) discuss the aesthetics & logics of dreams, 2) explore ways to incorporate dream-logics into our writing, 3) consider published poems' use of dreams & dream-logic, 4) write in response to prepared prompts, & 5) walk away with personal strategies for using dream poetics in writing.
 
The workshop will be led by Mathias Svalina, the author of five books, most recently The Wine-Dark Sea from Sidebrow books. He is an editor for the Portland-based Octopus Books, & runs a Dream Delivery Service. You can learn more about the Dream Delivery Service at dreamdeliveryservice.com.
 
All ages & skill-levels welcome. Bring only paper & writing utensil. Free workshop. Donations welcome, but not required.

Bring your little one for a fun morning of stretching your body at family yoga with musician/writer/yoga extraordinaire Lily Landers followed by a diy play dough tutorial and experiments with sculpture for all ages with exhibiting artist Stacy Elaine Dacheux.

*Comfy clothes, a yoga mat, and tupperware container recommended.

Voter Registration Event
Monday, October 8th/Indigenous Peoples' Day
1122 will host a registration event to be sure everyone can vote on Tuesday, November 6th.

Resistance Postcard Workshop
Wednesday, June 20th 6-9pm
1122 gallery was founded with the values of community and resistance. Because of the current practices of the US administration against immigrant families, we are hosting a casual event. We will have postcards with stamps to send to our representatives, as well as information for calling them. We hope to have discussions about what we can do in our community to help immigrant families.


Response Workshop: The Inside is the Outside
Monday, May 21st 6-8pm
Please join us for a Response Workshop for our current show, The Inside is the Outside by Carin Rodenborn + Abbie Miller. We will provide art supplies, but feel to bring your own materials. We will discuss the art around us and make our own creations in response.
